Lynn Dunbar

Longtime Louisville resident and 2018 Kentucky Derby Poster Artist, Lynn Dunbar, has always enjoyed the beauty of Kentucky and the Ohio River. Her undergraduate degree is from Purdue University, master’s degree from University of Louisville. She worked in advertising agencies and marketing prior to picking up the paintbrush.

Lynn’s work highlights strong composition and colorful use of oil paints. She enjoys painting Kentucky landscapes and river scenes of the Bell, tugboats, and aerials of the Ohio River. For fun she hikes and bikes the areas she paints, and practices yoga. She volunteers in various capacities for Norton Children’s Hospital.

She has won numerous local and national honors including grand Prize Women’s Club of Louisville, and Kentucky, Indiana and Pennsylvania plein air (outdoor) events. She was featured on the label of the 2018 Woodford Reserve Bourbon Holiday Bottle. And on the August/September Plein Air Magazine and November Voice Magazine cover. She is a signature member of the American Impressionist Society. Her work is displayed in corporate collections including Owensboro Hospital, Verizon, Omni Hotel and Commonwealth Bank.
