Balbina Meyer
Born in Geneva, Switzerland and raised in Spain, Balbina has moved through different art mediums in life. Since she was very young she has always been attracted to ancient art, especially the artistry of Asian paper lamps. Based on this attraction Balbina has arrived at working with the sustainable organic materials of wood, paper and Quartz Crystals.
Her work is a composition of found items (drift wood), sought items (I mine the Quartz) and purchased items (the paper). The shapes are inspired by the base pieces. The organic forms of her lights are inspired by nature and result in functional art that can be enjoyed day or night.
Balbina’s art represents that inner light and primordial essence that exists in all living beings.
